Fixing a 40-year-old Telephone

Problem

Karen A. of Neptune N.J. had a classic 1960s princess phone that had worked well for forty years, but recently it developed crackling and crunching sounds both while talking and listening. Tightening up the various connecting screws inside the phone was no help so she turned to Wire Glue.

Solution

Each of the screw terminals was cleaned with a pencil eraser and a light coating of Wire Glue was applied. The telephone was then set aside and the Wire Glue was allowed to dry overnight. When the Wire Glue was dry the phone was reassembled and now it works perfectly.
